IT'S ABOUT BALANCE!
Stress Management, Renewal,
& Well-Being for Educators

S. Gail, High School Counselor

"The combination of research and relevant activities was brilliant. I learned a lot about how to give a good workshop as well as ideas for my Effective Teaching classes."
Dr. A. Backus, Education consultant, gifted/talented programs
Are you finding it harder to keep up with the increasing challenges of being an educator?  Or life in general?  Feeling more stress and not quite sure how to keep or get things back into balance?  In truth, most of us are these days.  And while there are no simplistic answers, this workshop will certainly help bring life and career back into more healthful and enjoyable balance.

The good news is this: small changes, specifically applied, have been shown to produce noticeably positive results in stress reduction, health improvement, and enhanced overall well-being.  From a synthesis of research in such fields as stress management, human resiliency, wellness, martial arts, exercise physiology, psychoneuroimmunology, the brain sciences, neurofeedback, and more, come key principles and techniques that help us (and our students!) find a calmer, more energized, and balanced approach to living and learning.

The workshop addresses theory, recent research and - most important to educators - practical and effective application.  You'll enjoy and benefit in both your personal life and in the professional/classroom setting, and you'll learn many techniques for immediate use.

This enjoyable workshop teaches you how to:

• Understand the basic science of stress and it's management.
• Apply specific techniques from psycho-neuro-immunology, martial arts, mindfulness techniques, positive psychology and more, to reduce stress and improve overall health and wellbeing.
• Rediscover the central role of purpose in as a means to transform distress into eustress (positive stress).
• Take away dozens of activities and energizers designed to boost energy, improve focus, enhance immune function, and stimulate creative problem solving.
• Create a Balance Wheel personal plan for optimal wellbeing and stress hardiness.

It's About Balance is offered in one and two day options and
can be tailored to meet the needs of your group.
